Languages Canada’s World Student Day is an annual event to celebrate international language students in Canada and to recognize their valuable contribution to our education, culture and economy.

Date: July 15, 2016

Schedule:

  • 11:55 a.m.: Meet Nancy Thiffault on the ground floor of Hamelin Hall, 70 Laurier East.
  • 12:00 p.m.: Departure from campus. We will walk to the park.
  • 12:20 p.m.: Arrival at Strathcona Park.
  • 12:25 p.m.: Welcome Message
  • 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Soccer game “qualifiers”
    • Game 1: Algonquin College 1 vs. GEO
    • Game 2: University of Ottawa vs. ABC
    • Game 3: Interlangues vs. Cultureworks
    • Game 4: Algonquin College 2 vs. CLLCOR
    • Enjoy other activities on site.
  • 2:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Soccer game “semi finals”
    • Game 5: Winner game 1 vs. Winner game 2
    • Game 6: Winner game 3 vs. Winner game 4
  • 3:15 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.: Soccer game FINAL
  • 3:50 p.m.: Awards for the soccer game wining team
  • 4:00 p.m.: End of event

What to bring:

  • Your ticket (Nancy will give you a ticket on the day of the event).
  • Dress according to weather and wear comfortable shoes, we will walk to get to the park.
  • A water bottle.
  • A lunch. Pizza and bagels will be served but it might not be enough.
  • Your health insurance card
